ITA Airways Runway Lounge

The ITA Airways Runway Lounge at Milan Linate airport is the latest incarnation of the former Casa Alitalia and Piazza Della Scala lounge. The new name isn’t just a marketing exercise—the club was expanded and remodeled from the ground up in May 2025. The Runway Lounge now spreads across 482 square meters and accommodates 125 guests, reflecting Milan’s growing strategic importance in ITA Airways’ network following the Lufthansa’s acquisition of the Italian flag carrier. The name “Runway Lounge” is a play on words: it’s both a nod to the capital of fashion and a reference to aviation. The decor generally builds upon the design of the Hangar Lounge at Rome Fiumicino airport, with the same blue and neutral tones, though the Runway Lounge has a notable standout feature: a fake airplane fuselage with LCD screens as windows. Fortunately, there’s also real windows—true to its name, the Runway Lounge boasts panoramic runway views
