About BLQ

Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) is a compact, single-terminal airport in northern Italy, and its two lounges both sit landside in the departures area, before the security checkpoint. The G.Marconi Lounge is the SkyTeam option, open to Elite Plus status holders and passengers flying business or first on a SkyTeam carrier — a quiet, understated Italian-design space with conference rooms, snacks, drinks and Wi-Fi. The independent Prima Vista Lounge, next to the fast-track security lane, has the wider reach: it takes Priority Pass, DragonPass, Star Alliance and oneworld, and also sells walk-in day passes, with hot and cold food, champagne, showers and fast-track security included. Match the lounge to your airline and alliance, and remember that both are landside, so leave time to clear security after your visit.

How we compile this guide

Sourced, never sponsored.

This guide is compiled from airline, alliance and lounge-operator sources plus published access rules from Priority Pass and DragonPass — we haven't independently visited every Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport lounge yet. Nothing here is a paid placement, and the guide is updated as lounges open, close, renovate or change access policies. Read more about how we verify lounge data.

Best Overall

Prima Vista Lounge

The Prima Vista Lounge has the widest access at Bologna — Priority Pass, DragonPass, Star Alliance and oneworld all get you in, and it sells walk-in day passes too. It also has the fuller offer: hot and cold food, champagne, showers and fast-track security, making it the most useful single option for most BLQ travellers.

Best for SkyTeam

G.Marconi Lounge

The G.Marconi Lounge is Bologna's option for SkyTeam Elite Plus members and business- or first-class passengers, with a quiet, understated Italian-design space, conference rooms and free Wi-Fi. If you fly a SkyTeam carrier out of BLQ, this is your lounge.

Best for Pay-Per-Visit

Prima Vista Lounge

Prima Vista is the only Bologna lounge that sells entry at the door, so you can pay per visit without status or a membership. A walk-in day pass also includes the adjacent fast-track security lane — a genuine time-saver before a flight.

MAIN

Main Terminal

Bologna runs a single passenger terminal, and both lounges are landside in the departures area — before the security checkpoint. The G.Marconi Lounge sits in the Terminal A area near security, reached via the glass lift to Level 1, and is for SkyTeam premium passengers. The independent Prima Vista Lounge is next to the fast-track security lane and is open to Priority Pass, DragonPass, Star Alliance and oneworld guests as well as walk-ins. Because both are landside, leave time to clear security after your visit.

Access guide

How to get into lounges at BLQ.

Bologna's two lounges split neatly by access type. The G.Marconi Lounge is the SkyTeam lounge — for Elite Plus status or a business/first ticket on a SkyTeam carrier. The independent Prima Vista Lounge covers everyone else: Priority Pass and DragonPass members, Star Alliance and oneworld premium passengers, and walk-ins who buy a day pass. Both are landside, so plan to clear security afterwards.

Lounge membership

Priority Pass

Priority Pass is accepted at the Prima Vista Lounge, the independent lounge by the fast-track security lane. It's the simplest membership route into a Bologna lounge if you're not flying a SkyTeam carrier.

Insider tips

Know before you go.

01

Both lounges are landside

  • Neither Bologna lounge is airside — both sit in the departures area before security, so use them first and leave time to clear the checkpoint.
  • Because they're landside, you can use them whether you've checked in online or at the desk, but you'll still pass through security afterwards.
  • If you're tight on time, the Prima Vista Lounge's fast-track security access can claw some of it back.
02

Match the lounge to your airline

  • Flying a SkyTeam carrier with Elite Plus status or a premium ticket? The G.Marconi Lounge is yours.
  • On Star Alliance or oneworld in business class? Head for the Prima Vista Lounge instead.
  • No status or alliance match? Prima Vista takes Priority Pass and DragonPass, or sells a walk-in day pass.
03

Pay-per-visit option

  • Prima Vista is the only Bologna lounge that sells entry at the door, so you don't need a membership to get in.
  • Booking the day pass online ahead of time is usually cheaper than paying on arrival.
  • A Prima Vista pass includes the adjacent fast-track security lane, which adds value at busy times.
04

Timing & facilities

  • The G.Marconi Lounge runs roughly 05:00–20:00 and Prima Vista roughly 06:00–22:00 — check current hours against an early or late flight.
  • Prima Vista has showers and hot food; the G.Marconi Lounge is a lighter snacks-and-drinks space without showers.
  • Prima Vista applies a maximum stay of around three hours, so time your arrival if you have a long wait.
