About CSX

Changsha Huanghua International Airport (CSX) is the main gateway for Hunan province, splitting its operation across Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. We track 15 lounges here, most of them independent contract VIP rooms rather than airline-branded spaces. DragonPass is the workhorse membership and opens the widest set of lounges across both terminals; a single Terminal 1 lounge takes Priority Pass, the No.16 First Class Lounge adds oneworld, and a few alliance-aligned lounges serve Star Alliance and SkyTeam passengers. China Southern runs its own Sky Pearl Lounge in Terminal 2 for premium-cabin flyers, and several lounges sell walk-in entry. Terminal 2 handles the international flights and holds the densest cluster of lounges, while a handful of options are listed against the main terminal area or the airport's separate VIP service centres. Because lounges are spread across two terminals and both airside and landside zones, always check your specific lounge's location before you set out.

How we compile this guide

Sourced, never sponsored.

This guide is compiled from airline, alliance and lounge-operator sources plus published access rules from Priority Pass and DragonPass — we haven't independently visited every Changsha Huanghua International Airport lounge yet. Nothing here is a paid placement, and the guide is updated as lounges open, close, renovate or change access policies. Read more about how we verify lounge data.

Terminal guide

Changsha Huanghua International Airport lounges by terminal.

T1

Terminal 1

Terminal 1 is Changsha's original terminal and handles a share of domestic services. Its lounges are a mix of landside and airside contract VIP rooms — the No. 2 First & Business Class VIP Lounge takes Priority Pass, while DragonPass opens the No.6 Business Lounge landside and the First Class VIP Lounge No.3 airside.

  • No. 2 First & Business Class VIP Lounge accepts Priority Pass
  • DragonPass opens the No.6 Business Lounge (landside) and First Class VIP Lounge No.3 (airside)
  • Clear security before heading for the airside VIP rooms
  • Smaller cluster than Terminal 2
T2

Terminal 2

Terminal 2 is the larger terminal at Changsha and handles the international flights. It holds the densest cluster of lounges — most are airside contract VIP rooms reachable on DragonPass, with a Star Alliance VIP Lounge, the oneworld-friendly No.16 First Class Lounge, the China Southern Sky Pearl Lounge after security, and a landside option in Lexiang Hall 4.

  • Largest cluster of CSX lounges, most of them airside
  • DragonPass covers the widest set of Terminal 2 contract lounges
  • China Southern Sky Pearl Lounge sits after security for its own premium flyers
  • No.16 First Class Lounge adds oneworld access alongside DragonPass
MAIN

Main Terminal & VIP Center

A handful of CSX lounges are listed against the main terminal area or the airport's separate VIP service centres rather than a specific T1/T2 gate zone. These include alliance-aligned lounges, a landside Joy Flight VIP room, and the Xiamen Airlines VIP Center at the Egret Passenger Service Center reached by a short shuttle ride. Confirm the exact location on each lounge page before you set out.

  • Alliance lounges here serve SkyTeam and Star Alliance passengers
  • Joy Flight VIP Lounge 5 is a landside DragonPass option
  • The Xiamen Airlines VIP Center sits outside security at the Egret / VIP Center, a short shuttle from the domestic terminal
  • Always check the per-lounge page for the precise location and terminal
Access guide

How to get into lounges at CSX.

Changsha is a DragonPass airport first and foremost — that membership opens the widest set of lounges across both terminals. A single Terminal 1 lounge takes Priority Pass, the No.16 First Class Lounge adds oneworld, and Star Alliance and SkyTeam status reach a few alliance-aligned lounges. China Southern serves its own premium passengers, and several lounges sell walk-in entry. Always check whether your lounge is in Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, and whether it sits airside or landside, before you go.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is the single most useful membership at CSX, accepted at the widest set of lounges across both terminals — including the airside contract VIP rooms in Terminal 2 and several Terminal 1 lounges. If you only carry one card here, this is the one.

Priority Pass

Priority Pass coverage at Changsha is narrow — the No. 2 First & Business Class VIP Lounge in Terminal 1 is the lounge that lists Priority Pass access. Confirm the lounge and terminal on the per-lounge page before you rely on it.

Airline status

Airline & alliance lounges

oneworld status reaches the No.16 First Class Lounge in Terminal 2, while Star Alliance and SkyTeam status open a few alliance-aligned lounges at CSX. Access follows your ticket and frequent-flyer tier, so check your eligibility for the specific lounge.

China Southern's Sky Pearl Lounge in Terminal 2 (after security) serves the airline's premium-cabin passengers departing on China Southern. A business- or first-class ticket on the home carrier is the simplest route into its own lounge.

Walk-in / paid entry

Several Changsha lounges sell entry on a pay-per-visit basis — including the Joyflight Airport VIP Lounge and the Xiamen Airlines VIP Center — so you can buy your way in without a membership or airline status. Booking ahead where possible is usually smoother than paying at the door.

Insider tips

Know before you go.

01

Lead with DragonPass

  • DragonPass covers more CSX lounges than any other membership — if you only carry one, it's the better bet here.
  • Most Changsha lounges are independent contract VIP rooms rather than airline-branded, so the membership matters more than which airline you fly.
  • Priority Pass coverage is limited to the Terminal 1 No. 2 First & Business Class VIP Lounge, so don't assume it opens the Terminal 2 lounges.
02

Mind your terminal

  • Changsha splits its lounges across Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 — pick a lounge in the terminal you're flying from.
  • Terminal 2 handles the international flights and holds the densest cluster of lounges.
  • Some lounges are listed against the main terminal area or a separate VIP centre, so check the exact location before you set out.
03

Airside vs landside

  • Several CSX lounges sit airside after security, while others — including the No.6 Business Lounge and Lexiang Hall 4 — are landside before the checkpoint.
  • The Xiamen Airlines VIP Center is outside the secure zone at the Egret / VIP Center, reached by a short shuttle from the domestic terminal.
  • Clear security first if your chosen lounge is airside, and don't bank on hopping between landside and airside once you've gone through.
04

Give yourself time

  • Changsha's domestic departure peaks can fill the lounges — arrive early if you want a comfortable seat.
  • If your lounge is at a separate VIP centre, factor in the shuttle ride on top of normal check-in time.
  • International departures from Terminal 2 mean immigration and security first, so build that into your timing.
