About HAN

Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) is Hanoi's main gateway and northern Vietnam's busiest airport, splitting its operation across two terminals: Terminal 1 for domestic flights and Terminal 2 for international. We track 12 lounges across the two, most of them airside after security. Hanoi is a DragonPass and Priority Pass airport first — those memberships unlock the widest set, including the Vietnam Airlines Lotus lounges in both terminals, SH Premium, ACV and the Bamboo Airways First Lounge. SkyTeam, Star Alliance and oneworld status reach the airline-aligned lounges, and a few independents sell walk-in entry. Because the terminals are separate buildings that don't connect airside, always pick a lounge in the terminal you're flying from, and allow extra time if you're connecting between a domestic and an international flight.

How we compile this guide

Sourced, never sponsored.

This guide is compiled from airline, alliance and lounge-operator sources plus published access rules from Priority Pass and DragonPass — we haven't independently visited every Noi Bai International Airport lounge yet. Nothing here is a paid placement, and the guide is updated as lounges open, close, renovate or change access policies. Read more about how we verify lounge data.

Access guide

How to get into lounges at HAN.

Hanoi is a DragonPass and Priority Pass airport first — those two memberships unlock the largest number of lounges across both terminals. Vietnam Airlines' Lotus lounges serve SkyTeam premium passengers, several lounges cover Star Alliance and oneworld status, and a few independent lounges sell walk-in entry. Always check whether your lounge is in Terminal 1 (domestic) or Terminal 2 (international) before clearing security, as the terminals don't connect airside.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is accepted at the widest set of HAN lounges, including the Vietnam Airlines Lotus lounges in both terminals, SH Premium, ACV and the Bamboo Airways First Lounge. It's the single most useful membership here.

Lounge membership

Priority Pass

Priority Pass works at SH Premium Lounge in Terminal 2 and the ASG Sky Lounge in Terminal 1's domestic departures. Coverage is narrower than DragonPass, so confirm your specific lounge and terminal before you travel.

Airline status

Airline & alliance lounges

Vietnam Airlines' Lotus lounges serve SkyTeam Elite Plus passengers; the Airport Business Class, Song Hong, ACV and NIA Business lounges cover Star Alliance and oneworld travellers depending on the lounge. Access follows your ticket and frequent-flyer tier.

Several Hanoi lounges accept paid entry at the door, including Song Hong Premium and the DragonPass contract lounges, so you can pay per visit without a membership or airline status. Booking ahead is usually cheaper than paying on arrival.

Business & First class ticket

A business- or first-class ticket on Vietnam Airlines or an alliance partner gets you into that airline's Hanoi lounge directly — the simplest route if you're flying premium out of HAN, with no membership needed.

Insider tips

Know before you go.

01

Lead with DragonPass

  • DragonPass covers more HAN lounges than Priority Pass — if you only carry one, it's the better bet here.
  • Many Hanoi lounges are independent contract lounges rather than airline-branded, so the membership often matters more than your airline.
  • Both Vietnam Airlines Lotus lounges (T1 and T2) accept DragonPass alongside SkyTeam status.
02

Mind the terminal

  • Terminal 1 is domestic and Terminal 2 is international — they're separate buildings that don't connect airside.
  • Pick a lounge in the terminal you're flying from before clearing security.
  • Domestic-to-international connections mean changing terminals, so plan the transfer time.
03

Timing & stay limits

  • Several HAN lounges cap your stay (commonly two or three hours), so time your arrival to the lounge rather than the gate.
  • The international lounges fill around the late-evening long-haul bank — go earlier if you want a seat.
  • Most lounges open early morning and run late, but a few close overnight, so check hours before an early or very late flight.
04

Making the most of access

  • SH Premium Lounge in Terminal 2 takes DragonPass, Priority Pass and oneworld — the most flexible single door at HAN.
  • The Bamboo Airways First Lounge in Terminal 1 is the most generously equipped domestic option, with an a la carte menu and champagne.
  • Premium drinks and spa or massage extras are often paid even when buffet and bar are complimentary — check before you order.
