Tambo was remodelled in late 2019, when the former separate Club and First lounges were combined into a single 880-square-metre (8,600 square foot) space that can accommodate close to 250 guests. The design carries the DNA of British Airways' latest lounges, with a striking resemblance to the airline's San Francisco club — hardwood floors, Earth tones, dim lighting and smooth curves make for a resolutely conservative but elegant ensemble. It's the most polished branded lounge at JNB, serving British Airways and oneworld premium-cabin passengers and eligible status holders in the International Departures Terminal ahead of long-haul flights.
