How to get lounge access at Kuala Lumpur Airport
Kuala Lumpur airport lounge access leans on memberships. Priority Pass and DragonPass open nearly every contract lounge and sleep space in both terminals, and LoungeDeal sells passes for most of them. Malaysia Airlines status or a oneworld premium ticket opens the Golden Lounge, which also sells walk-in passes.
Book a pass on LoungeDeal
LoungeDeal sells passes for most Kuala Lumpur contract lounges, including Plaza Premium First, the two Plaza Premium Lounges, both Kepler Clubs, the Sky Suite lounges, the Sphere Lounge, the three Travel Club lounges and CapsuleTransit in both terminals. No membership is needed, and the price is shown before you pay.
Priority Pass
Priority Pass covers the Plaza Premium Lounges at the Contact Pier and gateway@klia2, Kepler Club (Satellite and Landside), Travel Club in the Satellite, both Sky Suite lounges, the Sphere Lounge, CapsuleTransit KLIA 1 and Capsule Transit in Terminal 2's Sector 6. Plaza Premium First and the airline lounges are not on the list.
DragonPass
DragonPass reaches the same contract lounges as Priority Pass at KUL and adds Plaza Premium First in Terminal 1, the Terminal 2 Travel Club lounges near Gates L and P, and CapsuleTransit and CapsuleTransit MAX at gateway@klia2. That makes it the wider of the two memberships here.
Malaysia Airlines and oneworld
The Malaysia Airlines Golden Lounge admits Business Suite and Business Class passengers, Enrich Platinum and Gold members, and oneworld Emerald, Sapphire, First and Business passengers. The Platinum Lounge is for Business Suite, Enrich Platinum and oneworld Emerald or First.
Paid entry at the door
Malaysia Airlines sells Golden Lounge passes in advance or as a walk-in, and Plaza Premium sells entry at its lounges, which need a boarding pass for that day. Rates are set by each operator, so check before you go.
Kuala Lumpur Airport lounge tips
Check which side of security
- —Kepler Club (Landside), the Sphere Lounge, CapsuleTransit KLIA 1, Sky Suite T2, Plaza Premium gateway@klia2 and the two CapsuleTransit sites at gateway@klia2 are all before security.
- —Allow time for security and immigration after a landside lounge, especially in Terminal 1 if you then need the Aerotrain.
- —Satellite Building lounges are only reachable once you have passed immigration and taken the Aerotrain.
Memberships at KUL
- —Priority Pass and DragonPass overlap at most contract lounges, but Plaza Premium First, the Terminal 2 Travel Club lounges and the gateway@klia2 CapsuleTransit sites are DragonPass and paid entry only.
- —Kepler Club does not admit children under 7 at either location; Travel Club and Sky Suite are the family options in the Satellite.
- —Neither membership opens the Malaysia Airlines lounges.
Malaysia Airlines lounges
- —The Golden Lounge is in the Satellite's West Zone, Level 2 mezzanine, open 24 hours.
- —Enrich Gold and oneworld Sapphire members use the Golden Lounge; the Platinum Lounge is for Enrich Platinum, oneworld Emerald and First or Business Suite passengers.
- —Malaysia Airlines sells Golden Lounge passes, bought ahead or at the door.
Rest on long connections
- —CapsuleTransit runs sleep spaces in both terminals: landside on Level 5 of Terminal 1, airside in Sector 6 of Terminal 2, and two landside sites (CapsuleTransit and CapsuleTransit MAX) at gateway@klia2.
- —Kepler Club, all three Travel Club lounges and the Golden Lounge are open 24 hours.
- —The Sphere Lounge closes overnight (08:00–23:00), so it is not one for a red-eye wait.
