About LJG

Lijiang Sanyi International Airport (LJG) in Yunnan is a small but busy gateway to the tourist towns of northwest Yunnan, and its lounge scene is built around independent contract lounges rather than airline brands. Of the seven lounges we track, five are reachable on DragonPass — the single most useful membership here — including four in the Main Terminal and one in Terminal 2. Priority Pass covers two of the Main Terminal lounges, while Star Alliance Gold members and business-class passengers can use the two airline-aligned lounges. The DragonPass contract lounges also sell a pay-in entry, so you can visit without a membership. These are compact regional lounges: expect snacks, hot and cold soft drinks and Wi-Fi rather than a full hot buffet, and a two-hour maximum stay at most.

How we compile this guide

Sourced, never sponsored.

This guide is compiled from airline, alliance and lounge-operator sources plus published access rules from Priority Pass and DragonPass — we haven't independently visited every Sanyi Airport lounge yet. Nothing here is a paid placement, and the guide is updated as lounges open, close, renovate or change access policies. Read more about how we verify lounge data.

Best Overall

Best Business VIP Lounge

The Best Business VIP Lounge is the most flexible option at LJG — it takes both DragonPass and Priority Pass, sits airside in the Main Terminal just past security, and sells a pay-in entry, so most travellers can get in without airline status. A calm, modern space with snacks, hot and cold soft drinks and Wi-Fi.

Best for Priority Pass

First Class Lounge

The First Class Lounge is the other Main Terminal lounge that takes Priority Pass alongside DragonPass. It sits airside to the right after security, with tarmac views, computer access, snacks and soft drinks — a reliable Priority Pass option when the Best Business VIP Lounge is busy.

Best in Terminal 2

First Class Lounge 2 (T2 Dom)

First Class Lounge 2 is the only lounge on the Terminal 2 side, reachable on DragonPass. It adds a few extras the Main Terminal lounges don't — a TV, luggage storage and boarding announcements — handy if you're flying a domestic service from T2.

Best for Star Alliance

VIP Lounge

The VIP Lounge serves Star Alliance Gold members and business-class passengers, set above the first-class security area. It's the most equipped of the status-access lounges, with private rooms, hot and cold drinks, printer and PC access — a quiet pick if you're flying a Star Alliance carrier.

Access guide

How to get into lounges at LJG.

Lijiang is a DragonPass airport first and foremost — that single membership opens five of the seven lounges, including the airside Main Terminal contract lounges and the one in Terminal 2. Priority Pass covers two of the Main Terminal lounges, Star Alliance status (or a business-class ticket) reaches the two airline-aligned lounges, and the DragonPass contract lounges also sell a pay-in entry, so you can visit without a membership.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is the single most useful membership at Lijiang, accepted at five of the seven lounges — the airside Best Business VIP Lounge, First Class Lounge and International First Class Lounge No. 2, the landside Best VIP Reception Counter, and First Class Lounge 2 in Terminal 2.

Priority Pass

Priority Pass works at two Main Terminal lounges — the Best Business VIP Lounge and the First Class Lounge, both airside after security. Coverage is narrower than DragonPass, so check that your specific lounge takes Priority Pass before you travel.

Star Alliance status

Star Alliance Gold members and business-class passengers can use the departures-floor Airport Lounge and the VIP Lounge above the first-class security area. Access follows your frequent-flyer tier or your ticket rather than a paid membership.

Star Alliance
Insider tips

Know before you go.

01

Lead with DragonPass

  • DragonPass opens five of the seven Lijiang lounges — if you only carry one membership, it's the better bet here.
  • Most LJG lounges are independent contract lounges rather than airline-branded, so the membership matters more than which airline you're flying.
  • Priority Pass covers two Main Terminal lounges; confirm yours before you rely on it at the door.
02

Airside vs landside

  • Most lounges are airside, past security — clear the checkpoint first.
  • The Best VIP Reception Counter is landside near check-in counter 12, useful before you go through security.
  • Follow the lounge signage once airside; the Main Terminal lounges sit just left or right after the security check.
03

Mind your terminal

  • Terminal 2 has just one lounge — First Class Lounge 2, reachable on DragonPass.
  • The bulk of the lounges are in the Main Terminal, so match your lounge to the terminal you're flying from.
  • If you're connecting between terminals, plan the transfer time before counting on a lounge stay.
04

Set expectations

  • These are compact regional lounges — expect snacks and hot and cold soft drinks rather than a full hot buffet or a staffed bar.
  • A two-hour maximum stay applies at the DragonPass contract lounges, so time your visit to your boarding.
  • Lounges here are generally quiet; they're a calm place to wait, work or rest before a domestic flight.
