The Lufthansa Senator Lounge is the best Star Alliance lounge in JFK Terminal 1 for status holders, and it is easy to find: Level 3, immediately left after security. It shares a complex with the Lufthansa Business Lounge, but the Senator side is reserved for Lufthansa First Class passengers, HON Circle members, Senator members and Star Alliance Gold members. Business Class passengers without status use the Business Lounge next door. The Senator Level includes the First Class and HON wine & dine area, which closes only after the last Lufthansa Group departure. Expect complimentary hot and cold buffets, a full bar, showers, TV, magazines, printing and step-free access. The room is calm and spacious, with large windows facing the tarmac. The lounge opens at 12:00 each day.

Food is the strong point here. Senator guests get complimentary hot and cold buffets and a complimentary full bar with soft drinks. First Class passengers and HON Circle members also have the wine & dine area, the Lufthansa Senator Level & First Class and HON space, which serves until the last Lufthansa Group flight has departed. If you qualify for it, eat there rather than at the buffet.
The Senator Lounge is airside in Terminal 1 on Level 3. After the security checkpoint, turn immediately left. It shares an entrance complex with the Lufthansa Business Lounge.
