About OPO

Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) is northern Portugal's main airport, about 11 km north-west of central Porto, and is run by ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, part of VINCI Airports. Everything happens in one terminal building, with check-in on the departures level and the gates beyond security. Flights to the UK, the Americas and other non-Schengen destinations go through passport control, while Schengen flights board without it. TAP Air Portugal links Porto with Lisbon and its long-haul network, and low-cost carriers, led by Ryanair and easyJet, run a large share of the European routes. The Metro do Porto violet Line E stops at the terminal and runs to the city centre, which makes Porto one of the easier Iberian airports to reach without a car. The airport is named after Francisco Sá Carneiro, the Portuguese prime minister who died in a 1980 plane crash.

How we compile this guide

Sourced, never sponsored.

This guide is compiled from airline, alliance and lounge-operator sources plus published access rules from Priority Pass and DragonPass — we haven't independently visited every Francisco de Sá Carneiro Airport lounge yet. Nothing here is a paid placement, and the guide is updated as lounges open, close, renovate or change access policies. Read more about how we verify lounge data.
