About PUJ

Punta Cana International (PUJ) is the Dominican Republic's busiest airport and a major leisure gateway, but its lounge scene is simple: every lounge is part of the airport's own VIP Lounge brand, with no airline-branded suites. We track three, all airside and tied to a specific departure gate area. Two are on the Terminal B side — one in the B2 area near gate 29 that takes SkyTeam, DragonPass and oneworld and includes a children's play area, and a second near gate 24 reachable on Priority Pass. The third is in Terminal A near gate 16, which accepts Priority Pass and also sells walk-in entry to any passenger for a fee. Priority Pass is the most broadly useful card here. Because each lounge sits behind passport control on a particular pier, pick the one nearest your gate before you clear the checkpoint.

How we compile this guide

Sourced, never sponsored.

This guide is compiled from airline, alliance and lounge-operator sources plus published access rules from Priority Pass and DragonPass — we haven't independently visited every Punta Cana International Airport lounge yet. Nothing here is a paid placement, and the guide is updated as lounges open, close, renovate or change access policies. Read more about how we verify lounge data.

Insider tips

Know before you go.

01

Match the lounge to your gate

  • All three PUJ lounges are airside and tied to a specific gate area — pick the one nearest your departure gate before you clear passport control.
  • The Terminal B2 lounge (gate 29) and the Terminal B gate-24 lounge are separate spaces with different access rules, so don't assume one card covers both.
  • If you're flying from the Terminal A side, the gate-16 VIP Lounge is your only on-pier option.
02

Know which card gets you in

  • Priority Pass is the safest single membership at Punta Cana — it covers the Terminal B gate-24 lounge and the Terminal A gate-16 lounge.
  • DragonPass and SkyTeam or oneworld status route you specifically to the Terminal B2 lounge near gate 29.
  • No membership? The Terminal A lounge sells walk-in entry to any passenger for a fee.
03

Travelling with family

  • The VIP Lounge in the Terminal B2 area has a dedicated children's play area, the most family-friendly option at PUJ.
  • It also has quieter corners that work for a bit of laptop time between the play space and the seating zones.
04

Give yourself time

  • Punta Cana is a busy leisure hub and passport control plus security can be slow at peak — clear the checkpoint first, then settle in.
  • Lounge hours run roughly 08:00–22:00, so confirm yours is open if you have a very early or late departure.
  • All lounges sit airside after passport control, so there's no landside option if you arrive extremely early.
