Sydney's Amex lounge in Terminal 1, where entry is by card, not airline status, and it returns after its October 2026 refurbishment.
The Centurion Lounge is the Amex lounge at Sydney Airport, renamed from the American Express Lounge, and it sits airside on Level 1 of Terminal 1 with reception near Gates 50–63. Entry depends on your card rather than your airline: bring an eligible American Express card and a same-day boarding pass. From 8 July 2026, Australian Platinum Personal and Business Card Members may bring 1 guest instead of 2, Corporate Platinum keeps 2, and guests must be on the same flight. Upgraded Points reports that US Platinum and Delta Reserve cards are accepted too. Inside are a buffet with live cooking, a full bar with cocktails, barista coffee, 3 showers and quiet workspaces. The lounge opened in this spot in October 2019, replacing a smaller lounge near Gate 24, and it reopens after its October 2026 refurbishment with daily hours of 06:00 to 22:00. For an Amex Platinum holder flying from the Pier C gates, it is the easy first choice.
