About USH

Ushuaia's Malvinas Argentinas Airport (USH) is the southernmost commercial airport in the world and the main gateway for Antarctic cruises and Patagonian travel. It's a single-terminal airport with one lounge: the Ushuaia W Premium, an alpine-styled space airside near Gate 4, with large windows looking out over the Beagle Channel and the surrounding mountains. The lounge accepts DragonPass and Priority Pass, and also sells a paid day pass at the door, so most travellers on a domestic departure have a way in. Inside you'll find a light buffet with local touches, Argentine wines and a calm place to wait, which is especially handy during the busy November-to-March Antarctic season and the frequent far-south weather delays. Access is for passengers on domestic flights, and because the lounge is airside, clear passport control and security first.

How we compile this guide

Sourced, never sponsored.

This guide is compiled from airline, alliance and lounge-operator sources plus published access rules from Priority Pass and DragonPass — we haven't independently visited every Malvinas Argentinas Airport lounge yet. Nothing here is a paid placement, and the guide is updated as lounges open, close, renovate or change access policies. Read more about how we verify lounge data.

Insider tips

Know before you go.

01

One lounge, airside

  • Ushuaia has a single lounge, the W Premium, and it's airside — clear passport control and security before heading to it.
  • It sits near Gate 4, a short walk from the checkpoint, so it's easy to find once you're through.
  • Lounge access is for passengers on domestic flights.
02

How to get in

  • DragonPass and Priority Pass both open the door here, so either membership works.
  • No membership? A paid day pass is sold at the door, subject to space.
  • Bring your boarding pass — it's needed alongside your card or pass.
03

Make the most of the view

  • The lounge has large windows over the Beagle Channel and the mountains — grab a window seat if one's free.
  • Try the Argentine wines; Malbec and the local empanadas are the standouts of the food offering.
  • It's a small, calm space, so it can fill at the morning and late-afternoon departure peaks.
04

Plan around Antarctic season

  • Ushuaia is the main gateway for Antarctic cruises, so the airport and lounge are busiest in the November-to-March season.
  • Arrive early in peak season to be sure of a seat in the small lounge.
  • Weather delays are common this far south — the lounge is a comfortable place to wait one out.
