About YIH

Yichang Sanxia Airport (YIH) is the gateway to China's Three Gorges region, and its lounge scene is small and simple: two domestic lounges inside a single passenger terminal, both reachable on DragonPass. The First Class Lounge is airside, on the right-hand side of the apron once you clear security, with massage chairs, a nursing room, Wi-Fi, charging and light snacks. The VIP Reception Center is landside in the domestic departure hall, where staff handle boarding and luggage check-in and guide you through to a lounge area with a runway view. There are no Priority Pass, airline or alliance lounges at YIH; DragonPass is the only membership accepted, and both lounges are also purchasable for a paid walk-in. Stays are capped at two hours at each lounge, so time your visit to your boarding.

How we compile this guide

Sourced, never sponsored.

This guide is compiled from airline, alliance and lounge-operator sources plus published access rules from Priority Pass and DragonPass — we haven't independently visited every Sanxia Airport lounge yet. Nothing here is a paid placement, and the guide is updated as lounges open, close, renovate or change access policies. Read more about how we verify lounge data.

Editor's picks

Where we'd actually go.

Best Overall

First Class Lounge (T2 Domestic)

The airside First Class Lounge is the easiest pick for most departures at Yichang — it sits past security in the departures area, opens on DragonPass, and stocks the most relaxation amenities at the airport, including massage chairs, a nursing room, hot and cold drinks and light snacks.

Best for Check-In & VIP Service

VIP Reception Center

The VIP Reception Center is the landside option, reached at the VIP service counter in the domestic departure hall. Staff help with boarding and luggage check-in and walk you through to the lounge area, which has a runway view — handy if you want assistance before you clear security.

Best for DragonPass

First Class Lounge (T2 Domestic)

DragonPass is the only membership accepted at Yichang, and it opens both lounges. If you carry it, the airside First Class Lounge is the most convenient way to use it once you're through security and waiting at the gate.

Terminal guide

Sanxia Airport lounges by terminal.

MAIN

Main Terminal (Domestic)

Yichang Sanxia runs domestic flights from a single passenger terminal, and both of its lounges are inside it. The First Class Lounge is airside, on the right-hand side of the apron once you clear security; the VIP Reception Center is landside in the domestic departure hall, with its own check-in assistance and a runway view. Both accept DragonPass only.

  • Single domestic terminal — both lounges are in the same building
  • First Class Lounge is airside, past security in the departures area
  • VIP Reception Center is landside, in the domestic departure hall
  • DragonPass is the only accepted membership at both lounges
Access guide

How to get into lounges at YIH.

Access at Yichang Sanxia is straightforward: DragonPass is the only membership either lounge accepts, and both lounges are also purchasable, so a paid walk-in is the fallback if you don't hold DragonPass. There are no Priority Pass, airline or alliance lounges at this airport. Decide whether you want the airside lounge (after security) or the landside VIP Reception Center (before the checkpoint, with check-in help) before you go through.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is the only membership accepted at Yichang, and it opens both the airside First Class Lounge and the landside VIP Reception Center. Present your DragonPass membership at the lounge reception or, for the VIP Reception Center, at the VIP service counter in the departure hall.

Day pass

Paid entry

Both Yichang lounges are purchasable, so you can pay to enter if you don't hold DragonPass. Note that stays are capped at a maximum of two hours at each lounge.

VIP service

VIP Reception Center counter

The landside VIP Reception Center is reached at the VIP service counter in the domestic departure hall, where staff handle boarding procedures and luggage check-in before guiding you to the lounge area. It's the route to choose if you want assistance before security rather than a seat at the gate.

Insider tips

Know before you go.

01

Airside vs landside

  • The First Class Lounge is airside — clear security first, then follow the apron to the right to reach it.
  • The VIP Reception Center is landside in the domestic departure hall; use it before security if you want check-in help.
  • Pick the one that fits your timing: landside for assistance and a slower start, airside for a seat once you're through.
02

Access at Yichang

  • DragonPass is the only membership that works here — Priority Pass and airline lounges aren't available at YIH.
  • Both lounges are purchasable, so a paid walk-in is the fallback if you don't carry DragonPass.
  • Each lounge caps your stay at two hours, so time your visit to your boarding.
03

What's on offer

  • Expect light snacks and hot and cold non-alcoholic drinks rather than a full hot buffet — these are compact domestic lounges.
  • The airside First Class Lounge adds massage chairs and a nursing room, useful for families and longer waits.
  • The VIP Reception Center has a runway view if you like to watch the aircraft while you wait.
04

Timing & hours

  • The First Class Lounge runs 07:00–22:00 and the VIP Reception Center 07:00–23:00 — check the hours against a late flight.
  • Yichang is a small regional airport, so arrive with enough time but expect short walks between security and the lounge.
  • Both lounges have Wi-Fi, charging and flight monitors, so you can keep working or watching for your gate call.
