All three airline clubs run on alliance status: Delta Sky Club for SkyTeam Elite Plus, United Club for Star Alliance Gold, and the American Airlines Admirals Club for oneworld Sapphire. Eligibility follows your tier and the airline you're flying that day.

The Chase Sapphire Terrace is open to Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders. Bring your card and boarding pass; this is the only lounge at AUS reachable on a credit card rather than airline status.

Paid airline club memberships — Delta Sky Club, United Club Card and Admirals Club — also get you into the matching lounge regardless of cabin or status. Day passes for these clubs vary by airline and aren't always sold at the door.

• —All four lounges sit airside in the single Barbara Jordan Terminal, so you only need to clear one security checkpoint.
• —The United Club is on the second floor of the West Concourse — take the elevator up to reach it.
• —Because it's one terminal, you won't be locked out of a lounge by being in the wrong building the way you would at a multi-terminal airport.

Food and drink varies

• —The American Airlines Admirals Club has the fullest bar at AUS, with complimentary house wine, beer and liquor.
• —The Chase Sapphire Terrace keeps it lighter — complimentary snacks, soft drinks and house wine and beer in an indoor-outdoor setting.
• —Expect cold spreads and snacks rather than large hot buffets across the Austin lounges.

Timing and hours

• —The airline clubs open early — around 04:15-04:30 — to catch the first morning departure bank out of Austin.
• —Most close by the early evening, so a late-night flight may leave you without lounge access; check the hours on the lounge page.
• —Austin's morning and late-afternoon peaks are the busiest windows; arrive a little earlier if you want a quieter seat.
