About TYN

Taiyuan Wusu International Airport (TYN) is the main gateway for Shanxi province in north-central China, handling both domestic and international flights. The seven lounges we track are a mix of airline VIP rooms from Hainan Airlines and China Eastern and independent first and business class lounges. DragonPass is the most useful membership here, opening the largest set of lounges, while Priority Pass and a walk-in pay-in entry cover several of the independent rooms. If you're flying Hainan or China Eastern in a premium cabin, you can use that airline's own lounge. All the lounges sit airside after security, and because lounge naming and terminal signage overlap at TYN, it's worth confirming your lounge's exact gate and area on its own page before you clear the checkpoint.

How we compile this guide

Sourced, never sponsored.

This guide is compiled from airline, alliance and lounge-operator sources plus published access rules from Priority Pass and DragonPass — we haven't independently visited every Wusu International Airport lounge yet. Nothing here is a paid placement, and the guide is updated as lounges open, close, renovate or change access policies. Read more about how we verify lounge data.

Best for Pay-Per-Visit

International First Class Lounge

The International First Class Lounge sits airside next to the duty free shops and welcomes Priority Pass members as well as pay-in walk-up guests, so you can buy your way in without airline status or a membership.

Best Airline Lounge

Hainan Airlines VIP Lounge

The Hainan Airlines VIP Lounge is the airline's own branded room at TYN, a calm contemporary space airside in Terminal 1 reachable on DragonPass — a good fit if you're flying Hainan or carry the membership.

First & Business Class Lounge

The First & Business Class Lounge is an airside DragonPass option with a quiet, low-noise feel and well-spaced seating — a solid pick for DragonPass holders who want a calmer pre-flight space.

MAIN

Taiyuan Wusu Terminals

Taiyuan Wusu runs domestic and international flights from its terminal complex, and all seven lounges we track sit airside after security. Coverage is split between airline VIP rooms (Hainan Airlines, China Eastern) and independent first and business class lounges reachable on DragonPass, Priority Pass or a pay-in walk-up. Because terminal signage and lounge naming overlap here, confirm your lounge's exact location and gate on its own page before you clear security.

  • All tracked lounges are airside, after security
  • DragonPass is accepted at the widest set of TYN lounges
  • Priority Pass and walk-in pay-in entry cover several of the independent lounges
  • Hainan Airlines and China Eastern run their own branded VIP rooms
Access guide

How to get into lounges at TYN.

Taiyuan Wusu is a DragonPass and Priority Pass airport first — those two memberships open most of the independent lounges. Several lounges also sell a walk-in pay-in entry, so you can pay per visit without a membership, and Hainan Airlines and China Eastern serve their own premium passengers in branded rooms. Check each lounge's page for its exact access and location before you travel.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is accepted at the widest set of TYN lounges, including the Hainan Airlines VIP Lounge, the First Class Lounge and the First & Business Class Lounge. If you carry one membership here, DragonPass opens the most doors.

Priority Pass

Priority Pass works at the First Class Lounge, the HNA Club Lounge and the International and Domestic First Class Lounges. Coverage is narrower than DragonPass, so confirm your specific lounge on its page before you travel.

Walk-in pay-in entry

Several Taiyuan Wusu lounges welcome pay-in guests at the door, including the International First Class Lounge and the Domestic First Class Lounge, so you can pay per visit without a membership or airline status.

Airline & alliance lounges

Hainan Airlines runs its own VIP rooms at TYN, and China Eastern's V2 Lounge serves premium China Eastern and SkyTeam passengers. Access to these branded lounges follows your ticket and frequent-flyer tier rather than a lounge membership.

Insider tips

Know before you go.

01

Lead with DragonPass

  • DragonPass covers more TYN lounges than Priority Pass — if you only carry one membership, it's the stronger choice here.
  • Many of Taiyuan Wusu's lounges are independent first and business class rooms rather than airline-branded, so the membership matters more than your airline.
02

Pay-per-visit works here

  • Several lounges sell a walk-in pay-in entry, so you can pay per visit without a membership or airline status.
  • The International and Domestic First Class Lounges both welcome pay-in guests as well as Priority Pass members.
03

Domestic vs international

  • Taiyuan Wusu mixes domestic and international flights — the International First Class Lounge is geared to international departures, while others serve the domestic side.
  • Confirm your lounge's gate and area on its own page, as lounge naming and terminal signage overlap at TYN.
04

Airline rooms follow your ticket

  • The Hainan Airlines VIP Lounge and HNA Club are Hainan's own rooms — a natural fit if you're flying Hainan.
  • China Eastern's V2 Lounge is sited near the First Class check-in and serves premium China Eastern and SkyTeam passengers.
