Sobre CUN

Cancún International Airport (CUN) is Mexico's busiest leisure gateway, and its lounges are spread across Terminals 2, 3 and 4, which don't connect airside. Most are MERA-operated VIP lounges reachable on DragonPass — the single most useful membership here — and several are also purchasable at the door. Terminal 3 adds a SkyTeam business lounge, Terminal 2 has the Aeroméxico Salón Premier, and Terminal 4, the main international long-haul terminal, holds the best-equipped lounges, including the VIP Lounge by MERA International with showers and a sleep pod, the Star Alliance Mera Lounge, and The Lounge by Global Lounge, which sells walk-in entry. Because the terminals are separate airside, always pick a lounge in the terminal you're flying from before clearing security.

Guia de acesso

Como entrar nas salas VIP em CUN.

Cancún is a DragonPass airport first — the MERA lounges in Terminals 2, 3 and 4 all admit DragonPass members, making it the single most useful membership here. SkyTeam and Star Alliance status open the airline-aligned MERA lounges, a couple of lounges sell walk-in day passes, and several MERA lounges are purchasable at the door. Because the terminals don't connect airside, always confirm which terminal you're flying from before clearing security.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is accepted at the widest set of CUN lounges — the VIP Lounge by MERA in Terminal 3, the VIP Lounge by MERA Domestic in Terminal 2 and the VIP Lounge by MERA International in Terminal 4. It's the single most useful membership at Cancún.

01

Lead with DragonPass

  • DragonPass opens the MERA VIP lounges in all three terminals — if you only carry one membership, it's the better bet at CUN.
  • The MERA lounges are also purchasable at the door, so you can pay per visit even without DragonPass.
  • Most of Cancún's lounges are MERA-operated, so the membership matters more than which airline you're flying.
02

Mind the terminal

  • Cancún's terminals don't connect airside — pick a lounge in the terminal you're flying from before clearing security.
  • Terminal 4 handles the most international long-haul and has the best-equipped lounges, with showers and a sleep pod.
  • If you're connecting between terminals, you'll exit and re-clear security, so plan the transfer time.
03

Showers and sleep

  • The VIP Lounge by MERA International in Terminal 4 has shower facilities and a private sleep pod — useful before a long overnight flight home.
  • The Mera Lounge in Terminal 4 also offers showers and private rooms for Star Alliance passengers.
  • Most MERA lounges cap your stay (two to three hours), so time your visit to your boarding.
04

Timing & crowds

  • Cancún's lounges fill around the afternoon and evening US and European long-haul banks — go earlier if you want a seat.
  • MERA lounge hours vary by terminal and don't always run late, so check the per-lounge hours against your flight.
  • Security and immigration at CUN can be slow at peak — arrive early and don't count on a long lounge stay.
