Sobre GYE

José Joaquín de Olmedo International Airport (GYE) is Guayaquil's gateway and one of Ecuador's busiest airports, with three lounges spread across its international and domestic terminals. On the international side, the Aeropuertos VIP Club near gate 8 is the independent contract lounge on DragonPass and Priority Pass, while the Diamond Club near gate 7 is the oneworld lounge for Sapphire status holders and business-class passengers. The Domestic Terminal has a single lounge, the SkyTeam VIP Club. Two of the three — both VIP Clubs — sell walk-in entry, so you can pay per visit without a membership or status. Because the international and domestic lounges sit on different sides of the airport, match your lounge to the terminal you're flying from, and remember that domestic-to-international connections involve a terminal change.

Best Overall

Aeropuertos VIP Club

The Aeropuertos VIP Club has the widest access of any GYE lounge — DragonPass and Priority Pass both get you in, and it sells walk-in entry too. It sits airside in the International Terminal near gate 8, with showers, complimentary drinks and snacks, making it the default choice for most international departures.

Best Airline Lounge

Diamond Club

The Diamond Club is the oneworld lounge on the international side, open to oneworld Sapphire status holders and business-class passengers. It's the most full-featured lounge at GYE, with a hot buffet, a business centre, a kids' zone and the longest hours of the three.

Best for SkyTeam

VIP Club

The VIP Club in the Domestic Terminal is GYE's SkyTeam lounge, reachable on SkyTeam Elite Plus status or a business/first ticket. It also sells walk-in entry, has showers and a quiet area, and is the one airside lounge on the domestic side.

Guia de acesso

Como entrar nas salas VIP em GYE.

Guayaquil's three lounges each cover a different route in. On the international side, DragonPass and Priority Pass open the Aeropuertos VIP Club, while oneworld status and business-class tickets reach the Diamond Club. The domestic VIP Club runs on SkyTeam. Two of the three lounges also sell walk-in entry, so you can pay per visit without a membership — just check which terminal your lounge is in first.

Lounge membership

Priority Pass & DragonPass

The Aeropuertos VIP Club in the International Terminal accepts both Priority Pass and DragonPass — the two memberships that work at GYE. It's the lounge to head for if you carry either card and are flying internationally out of Guayaquil.

01

Match the lounge to your terminal

  • Two of the three lounges are on the international side; only the VIP Club is in the Domestic Terminal.
  • Connecting domestic-to-international means changing terminals, so plan the transfer time.
  • Check whether your access route (DragonPass, oneworld or SkyTeam) lands you on the right side of the airport before you clear security.
02

Pay-per-visit works here

  • The Aeropuertos VIP Club and the domestic VIP Club both sell walk-in entry, so you can pay per visit without a membership.
  • The oneworld Diamond Club does not sell walk-in passes — it's status- and ticket-only.
  • If your card is DragonPass or Priority Pass, the Aeropuertos VIP Club is the lounge that takes it.
03

Mind the hours

  • The Diamond Club has the longest hours, open daily into the early hours of the morning.
  • The Aeropuertos VIP Club runs from early morning to just before midnight, with a maximum three-hour stay.
  • The domestic VIP Club keeps shorter hours and closes earlier in the evening — check before a late domestic flight.
04

What to expect inside

  • All three lounges offer Wi-Fi, flight monitors and air conditioning as standard.
  • The Aeropuertos VIP Club and the domestic VIP Club have shower facilities — useful before or after a long flight.
  • The Diamond Club adds a business centre, a kids' zone and a hot buffet, the fullest amenity set at GYE.
