Sobre BJL

Banjul International Airport (BJL), at Yundum just outside the Gambian capital, runs from a single main terminal — and so do all three of its lounges. The First Class Lounge and the Roumieh Business Lounge sit airside, after immigration and security, and both accept DragonPass and Priority Pass; the First Class Lounge also admits oneworld passengers. The Excel Lounge, on the terminal's upper level, serves Star Alliance travellers. Because the field is small and there's no lounge that covers every access type, the membership or status you carry decides which door opens: DragonPass and Priority Pass for the two airside lounges, oneworld for the First Class Lounge, and Star Alliance for the Excel Lounge. The Roumieh Business Lounge is the pick if you want a hot buffet, while the First Class Lounge offers the widest access and tarmac views.

Onde nós realmente iríamos.

Best Overall

First Class Lounge

The First Class Lounge has the widest access at Banjul — DragonPass, Priority Pass and oneworld all get you in — and sits airside after immigration and security with tarmac views and African-inspired decor. The most flexible choice for most travellers leaving BJL.

Best for Pay-In Members

Roumieh Business Lounge

The Roumieh Business Lounge takes DragonPass and Priority Pass and adds a complimentary hot buffet on top of snacks, plus a family room and a quiet prayer room. A comfortable, well-rounded airside option with a runway view.

Best for Star Alliance

Excel Lounge

The Excel Lounge on the terminal's upper level is the Star Alliance option at Banjul — a calm, contemporary space with a TV area and consistently low noise, set above the bustle of the main terminal floor.

Guia de acesso

Como entrar nas salas VIP em BJL.

Banjul is a membership-led airport — DragonPass and Priority Pass each open the two airside lounges (First Class and Roumieh Business), so a contract-lounge membership is the most reliable way in. Airline and alliance access is narrower: oneworld passengers can use the First Class Lounge, and Star Alliance travellers are served at the Excel Lounge on the upper level. Always match the lounge to the membership or status you actually hold before you clear security.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is accepted at the First Class Lounge and the Roumieh Business Lounge, both airside in the main terminal. It opens the same two lounges as Priority Pass, so either membership covers the airside field at BJL.

Priority Pass

Priority Pass works at the First Class Lounge and the Roumieh Business Lounge in the main terminal. Present your membership card with your boarding pass; entry is subject to capacity at busy times.

Business & First class ticket

A premium-cabin ticket or eligible elite status on a oneworld or Star Alliance carrier can open the matching lounge directly — oneworld for the First Class Lounge and Star Alliance for the Excel Lounge — so check your airline's eligibility before you fly.

01

Lead with a lounge membership

  • DragonPass and Priority Pass both open the two airside lounges — if you carry either, you're covered at Banjul.
  • The First Class and Roumieh Business lounges share the same DragonPass and Priority Pass access, so pick on comfort and food, not on which card you hold.
02

Match the lounge to your status

  • oneworld passengers should head for the First Class Lounge; Star Alliance travellers use the Excel Lounge upstairs.
  • There's no single lounge that covers every access type at BJL, so confirm your route in before clearing security.
03

Airside vs upper level

  • The First Class and Roumieh Business lounges are airside, reached after immigration and security.
  • The Excel Lounge is on the terminal's upper level — follow signage once you're through to the departures area.
04

Food and timing

  • The Roumieh Business Lounge adds a complimentary hot buffet, while the First Class Lounge keeps things lighter with snacks.
  • The First Class Lounge runs daytime hours, so check the timing if you're on an early-morning or late-evening departure.
