Sobre DUS

Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) is Germany's third-busiest airport, and it keeps a compact but varied set of five lounges across its three connected terminals. Terminal A is Lufthansa's base, with the Lufthansa Business Lounge for Star Alliance Business-class passengers and the Lufthansa Senator Lounge for Star Alliance Gold and Senator/HON members, alongside The Emirates Lounge for Emirates premium passengers. The two independent contract lounges — Hugo Junkers in Terminal B and Open Sky in Terminal C — take DragonPass and Priority Pass, plus Star Alliance and oneworld status, making them the most flexible way in if you don't have a Lufthansa or Emirates ticket. Both are airside with showers and a buffet. Because the lounges are spread across the terminals, always check which one your lounge sits in before clearing security.

Best Overall

Hugo Junkers Lounge

The Hugo Junkers Lounge in Terminal B has the widest access at DUS — DragonPass, Priority Pass, Star Alliance and oneworld all get you in — and sits airside with showers, a hot and cold buffet and a business centre. The most flexible option for travellers without a specific airline.

Best for Lounge Memberships

Open Sky Lounge

The Open Sky Lounge in Terminal C is the other DragonPass and Priority Pass option at Düsseldorf, an airside space with tarmac views, showers and a quiet, low-noise atmosphere. A solid alternative when you're flying from the C piers.

Best Airline Lounge

Lufthansa Senator Lounge

The Lufthansa Senator Lounge in Terminal A is the flagship Star Alliance experience at DUS, on the mezzanine level for Star Alliance Gold and Lufthansa HON/Senator members. Quieter and a step up from the adjacent Business Lounge, with showers and a refined feel.

Best Premium Cabin

The Emirates Lounge

The Emirates Lounge, renovated in late 2023 and spanning 700 square metres, serves Emirates First and Business Class passengers plus Skywards Platinum and Gold members, with a Do&Co-curated buffet, shower suites and a business centre.

Guia de acesso

Como entrar nas salas VIP em DUS.

Düsseldorf splits cleanly between airline and independent access. The two Lufthansa lounges in Terminal A and The Emirates Lounge are for those airlines' premium passengers and eligible status holders, while the independent Hugo Junkers (Terminal B) and Open Sky (Terminal C) lounges take DragonPass and Priority Pass, plus Star Alliance and oneworld status. Always check which terminal your lounge is in before clearing security.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is accepted at the two independent lounges — Hugo Junkers in Terminal B and Open Sky in Terminal C — both airside after security. It's the most useful membership at Düsseldorf if you don't have airline status.

Priority Pass

Priority Pass opens the same two independent lounges, Hugo Junkers (Terminal B) and Open Sky (Terminal C). The Lufthansa and Emirates lounges are not part of the Priority Pass network, so confirm your terminal before you travel.

Airline & alliance lounges

Star Alliance Gold members and Lufthansa Senator/HON cardholders use the Lufthansa Senator Lounge, while Star Alliance Business-class passengers use the Lufthansa Business Lounge, both in Terminal A. Star Alliance and oneworld status also reach the independent Hugo Junkers and Open Sky lounges.

Business & First class ticket

A premium-cabin ticket gets you into your airline's lounge directly. Lufthansa Business and First passengers use the Terminal A lounges, and Emirates First and Business Class passengers use The Emirates Lounge — the simplest route if you're flying premium out of Düsseldorf.

Emirates Skywards

01

Match the lounge to your terminal

  • Düsseldorf's terminals A, B and C are wings of one building but each holds different lounges — check which terminal yours is in before security.
  • Lufthansa and Emirates passengers head for Terminal A; DragonPass and Priority Pass holders want Hugo Junkers (B) or Open Sky (C).
  • Once airside you can generally move between the piers, but confirm your lounge's location before you commit.
02

Membership vs airline access

  • If you carry DragonPass or Priority Pass, the independent Hugo Junkers and Open Sky lounges are your route in — the airline lounges aren't in those networks.
  • Star Alliance and oneworld status also reach the two independent lounges, so you have options beyond the Lufthansa lounges.
  • Hugo Junkers in Terminal B has the widest access of any lounge at DUS.
03

Lufthansa lounge tiers

  • The Lufthansa Senator Lounge is the higher tier, for Star Alliance Gold and Lufthansa Senator/HON members; the Business Lounge is for Star Alliance Business-class.
  • The Senator Lounge sits on the mezzanine level and is usually the quieter of the two.
  • Both are in Terminal A and are accessed by Star Alliance status or a Lufthansa premium ticket, not by paid membership.
04

Premium-cabin perks

  • Emirates First and Business passengers get The Emirates Lounge with its Do&Co-curated buffet and shower suites; Skywards Platinum and Gold members qualify too.
  • Emirates Economy passengers can sometimes buy into the Emirates Lounge, capacity permitting.
  • Both independent lounges and the Emirates Lounge have showers, handy before or after a long-haul flight.
