Sobre KWI

Kuwait International Airport (KWI) spreads its nine lounges across Terminals 1, 4 and 5. Most are independent contract lounges in the DragonPass and Priority Pass networks, with SkyTeam, Star Alliance and oneworld status opening a few of them and Kuwait Airways running its own branded lounge for First Class and Oasis elite members. Terminal 1 holds the densest cluster — the Dasman, Dasman Premier, Kuwait Pearl and Mastercard Pearl Metro lounges — while Terminal 5 has the multi-network Pearl Lounge, the widest-access option at the airport, plus the Hayakom Lounge. Terminal 4 is Kuwait Airways' base, served by the Al Mubarakiya Lounge. Several lounges sell a walk-in day pass, so you can pay per visit without status or a membership; just check which terminal your lounge is in before you clear passport control, as all the terminal-listed lounges sit airside.

Como entrar nas salas VIP em KWI.

Kuwait is a DragonPass and Priority Pass airport first and foremost — those two memberships unlock the most lounges. SkyTeam, Star Alliance and oneworld status open a few of the contract lounges, Kuwait Airways runs its own branded lounge for First Class and Oasis elite members, and several lounges sell a walk-in day pass. Always check whether your lounge is in Terminal 1, 4 or 5 before clearing passport control.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is accepted at the widest set of KWI lounges, including the Dasman, Dasman Premier, Al Mubarakiya, Hayakom and Pearl lounges. It's the single most useful membership here.

Priority Pass

Priority Pass works at several KWI lounges, including the Dasman Premier, Al Mubarakiya, Hayakom and Terminal 5 Pearl lounges. Coverage is slightly narrower than DragonPass, so confirm your specific lounge and terminal.

SkyTeam Elite Plus and Star Alliance Gold reach the Dasman and Pearl lounges, and oneworld Sapphire opens the Terminal 5 Pearl Lounge. Kuwait Airways First Class passengers and Oasis Platinum and Gold members use the dedicated Kuwait Airways Elite Lounge.

01

Lead with DragonPass

  • DragonPass covers more KWI lounges than Priority Pass — if you only carry one, it's the better bet here.
  • Many Kuwait lounges are independent contract lounges rather than airline-branded, so the membership matters more than your airline.
  • Priority Pass still covers the Dasman Premier, Al Mubarakiya, Hayakom and Terminal 5 Pearl lounges if that's what you hold.
02

Mind the terminal

  • KWI lounges are split across Terminals 1, 4 and 5 — pick a lounge in the terminal you're flying from before clearing passport control.
  • Terminal 1 has the most lounges; Terminal 4 is Kuwait Airways' base; Terminal 5 holds the widest-access Pearl Lounge.
  • All the terminal-listed lounges are airside, after passport control and the security check.
03

Pay-per-visit works here

  • The Kuwait Pearl and Mastercard Pearl Metro lounges admit all passengers for a fee, so you can pay per visit without status.
  • The Derwaza Lounge is an Emirates club that also welcomes walk-in pay-in guests.
  • Booking or confirming entry ahead is worth it at busy times when the contract lounges fill up.
04

Know the stay limits

  • Some KWI contract lounges cap your visit — the Al Mubarakiya Lounge allows a maximum three-hour stay and Hayakom a maximum four hours.
  • Per local custom, several Kuwait lounges (including the Kuwait Airways Elite Lounge) don't serve alcohol; the Pearl lounges do.
  • Most lounges run all day, and Hayakom is open 24 hours.
