Sobre NPE

Hawke's Bay Airport (NPE) is the airport for Napier and Hastings on New Zealand's North Island — a compact, single-terminal domestic airport with Air New Zealand as the main carrier. It has one lounge, the Air New Zealand Regional Lounge, set airside on the first floor with views over the runway and surrounding farmland. As an airline lounge it doesn't take independent memberships like Priority Pass or DragonPass; instead, access is for Air New Zealand Koru members, Airpoints Elite status holders, Star Alliance Gold members on an eligible same-day flight, and passengers travelling in a Business cabin. Inside, it's a relaxed regional space of around 110 square metres with complimentary snacks, soft drinks, beer, house wine and spirits, plus Wi-Fi and a workstation area. If you don't hold Air New Zealand or Star Alliance access, there's no independent or pay-in lounge alternative at the airport.

Guia de acesso

Como entrar nas salas VIP em NPE.

Hawke's Bay Airport has one lounge — the Air New Zealand Regional Lounge — so access is tied to Air New Zealand and its Star Alliance partners rather than to independent memberships like Priority Pass. The main routes in are Air New Zealand's Koru membership, top-tier Airpoints status, Star Alliance Gold status on an eligible flight, or a Business cabin ticket.

Lounge membership

Air New Zealand Koru membership

Koru is Air New Zealand's lounge membership programme and is the most common way into the Regional Lounge at Napier. Members can usually bring a guest under the standard Koru terms; check your membership for current guest rules.

Air New Zealand Koru
Airline status

Airpoints Elite

Air New Zealand Airpoints Elite members receive lounge access when flying Air New Zealand, including at the Hawke's Bay Regional Lounge. It's the frequent-flyer route in if you're a regular Air New Zealand traveller rather than a paid Koru member.

Airline status

Star Alliance Gold

Star Alliance Gold members get into the Regional Lounge when departing on an eligible same-day Star Alliance flight. As Air New Zealand is a Star Alliance member, Gold status from a partner airline is recognised here.

Business cabin ticket

A Business cabin ticket on an eligible Air New Zealand or Star Alliance flight gets you direct lounge access with no membership required — the simplest route in for premium-cabin passengers flying out of Napier.

01

One lounge, plan around it

  • Napier's Hawke's Bay Airport has a single lounge — the Air New Zealand Regional Lounge — so if you don't have Air New Zealand or Star Alliance access, there's no independent or pay-in alternative on site.
  • The lounge is airside on the first floor; clear the security check first and follow the airport signage.
02

How to get in

  • Air New Zealand Koru membership and Airpoints Elite status are the everyday routes in for New Zealand travellers.
  • Star Alliance Gold status works on an eligible same-day Star Alliance flight, and a Business cabin ticket gets you in directly.
  • Priority Pass and DragonPass are not the way in here — access is tied to Air New Zealand and Star Alliance.
03

What to expect

  • It's a compact regional lounge of around 110 square metres designed for roughly 67 guests, with views over the runway and surrounding farmland.
  • Complimentary snacks, soft drinks, beer, house wine and spirits are available, along with Wi-Fi and a workstation area for a quick bit of work.
04

Timing at a small airport

  • Hawke's Bay is a small domestic airport, so security is usually quick — you won't need a long buffer, but the lounge is a calm place to wait.
  • Lounge offerings and hours can vary at regional airports; check before you travel if you're relying on a meal or a long stay.
