Sobre FCO

Rome Fiumicino (FCO), formally Leonardo da Vinci Airport, is Italy's busiest gateway, and it spreads the 14 lounges we track across Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, plus one landside lounge. Terminal 1 carries the larger share — the airside Plaza Premium and Primeclass independent lounges, several Prima Vista network lounges, and the ITA Airways Hangar Lounge for Schengen departures. Terminal 3 is the intercontinental terminal and holds the airline lounges: British Airways for oneworld, the Emirates Lounge, the Star Alliance Lounge and ITA Airways Piazza di Spagna for non-Schengen flights, alongside the Premium Plaza and Prima Vista Portus independents. Fiumicino is largely an independent-lounge airport — Priority Pass and DragonPass between them open the most doors, several lounges sell walk-in entry, and premium-cabin passengers can use their airline's lounge. Because the terminals don't connect airside, always pick a lounge in the terminal you're flying from.

Guia de terminais

Salas VIP de Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport por terminal.

T1

Terminal 1

Terminal 1 handles ITA Airways and most Schengen and intra-European departures, and holds the larger share of Fiumicino's lounges. It carries the airside Plaza Premium and Primeclass independent lounges (Priority Pass and DragonPass), several Prima Vista network lounges, and the ITA Airways Hangar Lounge for the flag carrier's Schengen premium passengers. All sit airside after security.

  • Largest cluster of FCO lounges, all airside after security
  • Plaza Premium takes Priority Pass and SkyTeam; Primeclass takes DragonPass and Priority Pass
  • The ITA Airways Hangar Lounge serves ITA premium and elite Schengen passengers
  • Prima Vista network lounges cover DragonPass, Priority Pass and oneworld access
T3

Terminal 3

Terminal 3 is Fiumicino's main intercontinental terminal, handling long-haul and non-Schengen departures. It holds the airline lounges — ITA Airways Piazza di Spagna, British Airways, the Emirates Lounge and the Star Alliance Lounge — plus the Premium Plaza and Prima Vista Portus independent lounges for SkyTeam, Priority Pass and DragonPass travellers. All are airside.

  • Fiumicino's intercontinental terminal — most airline lounges are here
  • British Airways serves oneworld; Emirates serves its own premium passengers
  • ITA Airways Piazza di Spagna covers non-Schengen ITA business and elite passengers
  • Premium Plaza (SkyTeam) and Prima Vista Portus (DragonPass / Priority Pass) cover independent access

Guia de acesso

Como entrar nas salas VIP em FCO.

Fiumicino is mostly an independent-lounge airport: Priority Pass and DragonPass between them open the Plaza Premium, Primeclass, Premium Plaza and Prima Vista network lounges. Airline access is limited to a few branded lounges — ITA Airways, British Airways and Emirates — and several independents also sell walk-in entry. Always check whether your lounge is in Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 before clearing security, as the terminals don't connect airside.

Lounge membership

Priority Pass

Priority Pass is accepted at the Terminal 1 Plaza Premium and Primeclass lounges, the Terminal 1 Prima Vista Lounge and the Terminal 3 Prima Vista Lounge Portus. Check the per-lounge page for the terminal you're departing from.

01

Terminal 1 vs Terminal 3

  • Terminal 1 handles ITA Airways and most Schengen flights; Terminal 3 is the intercontinental terminal — match your lounge to your departure terminal.
  • The terminals don't connect airside, so pick a lounge in the terminal you're flying from before you clear security.
  • Most independent lounges (Plaza Premium, Primeclass, Prima Vista) are in Terminal 1; the airline lounges cluster in Terminal 3.
02

Memberships open the most doors

  • Priority Pass and DragonPass between them cover the Plaza Premium, Primeclass and Prima Vista network lounges across both terminals.
  • Many FCO lounges are independent contract lounges rather than airline-branded, so your membership matters more than your airline.
  • Carry both memberships if you can — coverage differs lounge to lounge, so check the per-lounge page before you travel.
03

Pay-per-visit works here

  • Plaza Premium and Primeclass welcome all passengers on a pay-in basis, so you can buy entry without any membership or status.
  • Booking a lounge slot online ahead of time is usually cheaper than paying at the door and locks in entry at busy times.
  • Walk-in entry is the easy fallback if the membership-based lounges are full.
04

ITA Airways travellers

  • ITA runs two lounges: the Hangar Lounge in Terminal 1 for Schengen departures and Piazza di Spagna in Terminal 3 for non-Schengen flights.
  • Access follows your cabin and Volare tier — business class and Premium/Executive members are the typical entrants.
  • The Hangar Lounge is intimate (around 150 guests) and showcases Italian design, so it can fill at peak — arrive with time to enjoy it.
