How to Buy an Airport Lounge Day Pass in 2026

Last updated: October 19, 2026

You don't need elite status or a $695 credit card to relax before your flight. You can buy an airport lounge day pass for a single visit, often for less than you'd expect, and sometimes in the time it takes to walk up to the lounge door.

Prices and rules vary a lot. Some airline lounges charge $59 to $79 and require a same-day ticket on their own airline. Others don't sell passes at all. Independent lounges are usually cheaper and more flexible.

In this guide, you'll learn:

Here's what to know before you get to the airport.

Can you buy a day pass for an airport lounge?

Yes. Most airport lounges sell single-visit access to travelers who don't hold membership, status or a premium ticket. You can buy a day pass online in advance, through an airline's app, or at the lounge reception desk. Independent lounges are usually the cheaper option, while US airline clubs charge $59 to $79. Some lounges, including Delta Sky Clubs, don't sell day passes to the public.

Independent lounges such as Escape Lounge at Hartford (BDL) are open to travelers whichever airline they fly.

Two types of lounges matter here:

  • Airline lounges such as American's Admirals Club, United Club and Alaska Lounge. These often require a same-day boarding pass on the airline or its alliance partners.
  • Independent and pay-per-use lounges, run by operators such as Plaza Premium, Aspire, DragonPass partners and The Club. These generally accept any traveler with a same-day boarding pass, whichever airline you fly.

Where to buy an airport lounge day pass

There are four main ways to buy lounge access for one visit. The right one depends on your airport, your airline and how many trips you take each year.

Option Typical cost per visit Membership fee Airline restrictions Buy at the door?
LoungeDeal From $11.95 None No (independent lounges) Yes, on your phone
Priority Pass Standard Annual fee plus a per-visit charge (about $35) $99/year No No (membership needed first)
Admirals Club One-Day Pass $79 None Same-day American or oneworld flight Select locations
United Club one-time pass $59 None Same-day United or Star Alliance flight Sold in the United app
Alaska Lounge day pass $65 None Same-day Alaska, Hawaiian, oneworld or partner flight In person only (LAX, JFK and SFO lounges)

Prices checked October 2026. Airline lounge prices come from each airline's published rates and may change.

1. Buy online through LoungeDeal

LoungeDeal is a lounge marketplace that sells pay-per-visit access to nearly 1,200 bookable lounges and lists over 3,400 lounges across 1,191 airports in more than 180 countries. Passes start at $11.95, and there's no membership or subscription.

Compared with Priority Pass, the math is simple. A Priority Pass Standard member pays $99 for the year, then a per-visit fee on top. Your first visit can easily cost more than $130. With LoungeDeal, you pay the pass price and nothing else.

LoungeDeal prices can also be lower than the walk-in rate at the lounge desk, because you're buying through a partner channel rather than paying the posted door price.

2. Buy directly from the airline

Admirals Club, United Club and Alaska Lounge all sell single-visit passes, with conditions:

  • Admirals Club: $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles. You need a same-day boarding pass on a flight marketed or operated by American, or operated by a oneworld airline. Passes may not be sold at the busiest locations or during peak periods.
  • United Club: $59 through the United app. Since May 2025, pass holders can enter no earlier than three hours before departure (connecting travelers are exempt). Passes don't work at United Club Fly locations or Polaris lounges.
  • Alaska Lounge: $65 per person, bought in person at the lounge and subject to space. Day passes are only sold at the Alaska Lounges at LAX, JFK and SFO. You need same-day ticketed travel on Alaska, Hawaiian, a oneworld airline or a listed partner.
  • Delta Sky Club: Delta doesn't sell day passes. Access comes through status, eligible Amex cards, premium cabins or annual membership.

3. Pay at the lounge door

Many independent lounges accept walk-in payment at reception. This is the least predictable route. Walk-in rates are often the highest price you'll see for that lounge, and busy lounges may turn away walk-ins when they reach capacity.

4. Buy a Priority Pass membership

Priority Pass gives access to a large global lounge network, but it's an annual membership. The Standard tier costs $99 a year plus a per-visit fee, Standard Plus costs $329 with a bundle of visits, and Prestige costs $469 for unlimited member visits. It makes sense for frequent travelers. For one or two trips a year, buying individual passes is usually cheaper.

How to buy a lounge day pass on LoungeDeal

Buying a pass takes a couple of minutes, and you can do it from home, in the taxi or standing in front of the lounge.

  1. Search your airport. Enter your departure airport on LoungeDeal to see every bookable lounge, its terminal and its price.
  2. Pick your lounge. Check the terminal and whether the lounge is before or after security, so you can reach it from your gate.
  3. Choose date, time and guests. Select when you'll arrive and how many people need access.
  4. Pay once. No account fees, no membership.
  5. Get your QR pass instantly. Your pass appears straight away in the Orders & passes section of your account. There's nothing to print.
  6. Show it at reception. Present the QR code along with your same-day boarding pass.

Because the pass is issued instantly, you can buy it at the lounge entrance. If you're standing at the desk and the walk-in price is higher, pull out your phone, buy the pass on LoungeDeal and show the QR code a minute later.

LoungeDeal pass sales are final, so double-check your travel date and terminal before you pay. If LoungeDeal can't issue your pass, you get a full refund.

Buying a lounge day pass at major US airports

Your options change depending on which airline dominates the airport. Here's how it works at the busiest US hubs.

JFK and LAX

Both airports have several terminals with a mix of airline and independent lounges, and you generally can't move between terminals airside. Pick a lounge in the terminal you depart from. Compare the JFK lounges or LAX lounges to see what's open in your terminal before you choose.

DFW

Dallas Fort Worth is American's largest hub, so you'll find Admirals Clubs in every terminal. The $79 One-Day Pass works if you're flying American or a oneworld airline that day. Flying another airline? Look for an independent lounge at DFW instead.

ATL

Atlanta is Delta's home base, and Delta Sky Clubs don't sell day passes. If you don't have status, an eligible card or a premium ticket, an independent lounge at ATL is your best route in. Our Atlanta lounge day pass guide covers each option.

EWR and SFO

Both are United hubs. United Club one-time passes cost $59 in the United app, but you can only enter within three hours of departure. Travelers on other airlines, or anyone with a longer wait, should compare the independent lounges at Newark and SFO.

Miami

Miami is a major American Airlines gateway, so Admirals Club passes apply if you're flying American or oneworld. Independent lounges at Miami cover travelers on other carriers.

Day pass vs. membership: which is cheaper?

A quick break-even check tells you whether to buy passes or commit to a membership.

Membership Annual cost Break-even vs. buying passes
Priority Pass Prestige $469 Roughly 13 visits at $35 each
Admirals Club (single) $750 About 10 One-Day Passes at $79
United Club $750 About 13 one-time passes at $59

If you visit a lounge fewer than 10 times a year, day passes almost always win. If you travel with family, multiply the per-person cost by your group size, since most passes cover one adult.

Tips before you buy

  • Check the terminal and security side. A cheap pass is useless if the lounge is in another terminal or landside after you've cleared security.
  • Bring your boarding pass. Nearly every lounge asks for a same-day boarding pass alongside your pass.
  • Check stay limits. Some lounges cap visits at two or three hours, and United limits pass holders to three hours before departure.
  • Look at child policies. Admirals Club includes up to three children under 18 with an adult pass. Other lounges charge per child.
  • Buy ahead at peak times. Holiday weekends and early-morning banks fill lounges fast. A pre-purchased pass is more reliable than hoping for a walk-in spot.

How to get free lounge access

Free access usually comes from one of these:

  • Premium cabin tickets on business or first class international flights
  • Airline elite status at the right tier
  • Travel credit cards that include Priority Pass, Centurion or airline lounge access, usually with high annual fees
  • Membership perks. LoungeDeal's optional Airside membership costs $99 a year and includes a free lounge pass, a fast track pass and a 3GB eSIM each year, plus member pricing on every pass

For most occasional travelers, buying a day pass when you need one is the cheapest way in.

Frequently asked questions

Can I purchase a day pass to an airport lounge?

Yes. Most independent lounges and several airline lounges sell day passes. You can buy online through LoungeDeal, through an airline app or website, or at the lounge desk. Delta Sky Clubs are a notable exception.

What is the cheapest way to get into airport lounges?

For occasional travelers, buying a single pass online is usually cheapest. LoungeDeal passes start at $11.95 with no membership fee, while airline lounge passes cost $59 to $79 and Priority Pass requires an annual fee before you pay for visits.

Can I buy a lounge pass at the airport?

Yes. Many lounges sell walk-in access at reception, though door prices tend to be higher and you may be turned away when the lounge is full. You can also buy a LoungeDeal pass on your phone at the lounge entrance and receive your QR code instantly.
