Bole International (ADD) is Ethiopian Airlines' hub and East Africa's busiest connecting gateway. We track four lounges, almost all in the international Terminal 2: the SkyTeam-aligned Ethiopian Airlines Gold Lounge, the Plaza Premium Lounge on Priority Pass and oneworld, and a paid-entry ShebaMiles Silver Lounge. The Cloud Nine Lounge serves the domestic Terminal 1.

Sobre ADD

Bole International Airport (ADD) is the home hub of Ethiopian Airlines and one of the busiest connecting gateways in Africa, funnelling traffic between Europe, Asia and the rest of the continent. We track four lounges, and the picture is shaped by the airline: the Ethiopian Airlines Gold Lounge in the international Terminal 2 serves SkyTeam Elite Plus and premium-cabin passengers, while the Plaza Premium Lounge near gate A7 is the one independent option, reachable on Priority Pass or oneworld. The ShebaMiles Silver Lounge in Terminal 2 sells paid entry, and the Cloud Nine Lounge covers the domestic Terminal 1, also on paid entry. If you're connecting internationally, the Terminal 2 lounges are your base; if you're flying domestically, you'll head to Terminal 1. Because the terminals are separate, always match your lounge to the one you're departing from.

Best Overall

Plaza Premium Lounge

The Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 2 has the widest access at Bole — Priority Pass and oneworld both get you in, and it sits airside near gate A7 after passport control and security. The most flexible option for travellers without Ethiopian Airlines status or a SkyTeam tier.

Best Airline Lounge

Ethiopian Airlines Gold Lounge

The Ethiopian Airlines Gold Lounge is the flagship SkyTeam lounge at the airline's home hub, airside in the Terminal 2 international boarding area. It serves SkyTeam Elite Plus members and Business and First Class passengers, with a hot and cold buffet and tarmac views.

Best for Pay-Per-Visit

Ethiopian Airlines ShebaMiles Silver Lounge

The Ethiopian Airlines ShebaMiles Silver Lounge in Terminal 2 takes paid entry, so you can buy your way in without SkyTeam status — a useful option for travellers who don't qualify for the Gold Lounge but still want to wait away from the concourse.

Best in the Domestic Terminal

Ethiopian Airlines Cloud Nine Lounge Add Terminal

The Ethiopian Airlines Cloud Nine Lounge is the lounge to know in the domestic Terminal 1, accepting paid entry. If you're flying within Ethiopia rather than internationally, it's the practical choice on the domestic side of Bole.

T2

Terminal 2 (International)

Terminal 2 handles Bole's international flights and holds three of the airport's four lounges, all airside after passport control and security. The Ethiopian Airlines Gold Lounge serves SkyTeam Elite Plus and premium-cabin passengers, the Plaza Premium Lounge near gate A7 takes Priority Pass and oneworld, and the ShebaMiles Silver Lounge sells paid entry. This is where most connecting and long-haul travellers will spend their layover.

  • Holds three of Bole's four lounges, all airside after immigration and security
  • Plaza Premium (near gate A7) is the only Priority Pass and oneworld lounge here
  • The Ethiopian Airlines Gold Lounge serves SkyTeam Elite Plus and premium cabins
  • The ShebaMiles Silver Lounge takes paid entry for travellers without status
T1

Terminal 1 (Domestic)

Terminal 1 runs Bole's domestic operation within Ethiopia. Lounge coverage is thinner here than on the international side — the Ethiopian Airlines Cloud Nine Lounge is the option, accepting paid entry. If you're connecting from a domestic flight to an international one, you'll change terminals.

  • Far fewer lounges than the international Terminal 2
  • The Ethiopian Airlines Cloud Nine Lounge is the domestic option, on paid entry

Guia de acesso

Como entrar nas salas VIP em ADD.

Bole is Ethiopian Airlines' home base, so the lounge field leans heavily towards the airline and its SkyTeam alliance. The Ethiopian Airlines Gold Lounge serves SkyTeam Elite Plus and premium-cabin passengers; the Plaza Premium Lounge is the one independent option, reachable on Priority Pass or oneworld; and a couple of lounges sell paid entry so you can get in without status. Check whether you're departing from the international Terminal 2 or the domestic Terminal 1 before you settle in.

Airline status

SkyTeam status & premium cabin

The Ethiopian Airlines Gold Lounge in Terminal 2 admits SkyTeam Elite Plus members and passengers travelling in Business or First Class. As Ethiopian is a SkyTeam member, this is the main status-based route at its home hub.

Priority Pass

Priority Pass is accepted at the Plaza Premium Lounge in Terminal 2, airside near gate A7. It's the single lounge-membership route at Bole, so confirm you're in the international terminal before relying on it.

The Plaza Premium Lounge also admits oneworld Sapphire status holders and Business Class passengers on eligible oneworld flights. Note there's a maximum two-hour stay, which is worth planning around on a long layover.

Paid entry

The ShebaMiles Silver Lounge (Terminal 2) and the Cloud Nine Lounge (Terminal 1) accept paid entry, so you can pay per visit without SkyTeam or oneworld status. This is the most reliable way in if you don't hold airline status or Priority Pass.

01

International vs domestic terminal

  • Three of Bole's four lounges are in the international Terminal 2 — only the Cloud Nine Lounge is on the domestic side in Terminal 1.
  • If you're connecting from a domestic flight onto an international one, you'll change terminals, so leave time for the transfer.
  • Match your lounge to your terminal before clearing immigration and security in Terminal 2.
02

Pick the right access route

  • SkyTeam Elite Plus or a Business/First ticket gets you into the Ethiopian Airlines Gold Lounge — the natural choice at Ethiopian's hub.
  • Priority Pass and oneworld both work at the Plaza Premium Lounge, the only independent lounge at Bole.
  • No status? The ShebaMiles Silver Lounge (T2) and Cloud Nine Lounge (T1) sell paid entry.
03

Mind the time limits

  • The Plaza Premium Lounge applies a maximum two-hour stay — plan around it if you have a long connection.
  • Bole is a major connecting hub, so the Terminal 2 lounges can fill around the busy long-haul banks; arrive when you can.
  • Children under two are admitted free at the Plaza Premium Lounge.
04

Layovers at Bole

  • Most travellers here are connecting on Ethiopian Airlines, so the airside Terminal 2 lounges are the practical base for a layover.
  • The Plaza Premium Lounge sits airside after passport control near gate A7 — handy to locate once you've cleared transit checks.
  • If your status doesn't open a lounge, paid entry at the ShebaMiles Silver Lounge keeps you off the concourse.
