Sobre HRE

Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport (HRE) is Zimbabwe's main gateway, and its lounge scene is concentrated almost entirely in the International Terminal. Most of the 11 lounges we track are independent contract lounges in the DragonPass and Priority Pass networks, sitting airside after passport control and security — a dense run that includes the Premium Luxury, Vhakacha, Pearl, Blueberry, Khami and The Lounge. A few alliance lounges (SkyTeam's DZIMBABWE and Star Alliance's Dzimbahwe) serve their own premium passengers, and the Khami Executive Lounge sells walk-in pay-in entry. The Main Terminal adds two oneworld lounges — The Airport Lounge and the 24-hour Dzimbabwe Executive Lounge. If you're flying out of Harare, a DragonPass membership is the single most reliable way in; Priority Pass covers most of the same lounges, and a pay-in option is there if you don't hold a card.

Onde nós realmente iríamos.

Best Overall

Premium Luxury Lounge

The Premium Luxury Lounge has the widest access of any HRE lounge — DragonPass, Priority Pass and Star Alliance all get you in — and sits airside in the International Terminal between Gates 1 and 2 with a hot buffet, bar and runway views. The most flexible single choice for most travellers.

Best for Priority Pass

Pearl Lounge

The Pearl Lounge is a comfortable airside International Terminal option on DragonPass and Priority Pass, next to Gate 5, with a hot buffet, full bar, prayer room and a children's area — an easy, family-friendly pick when you hold either membership.

Best for Showers

The Lounge

The Lounge, opposite Gate 2 airside, is the HRE option with shower facilities, a meeting room and massage chairs alongside the standard hot buffet and bar — handy if you want to freshen up before a long-haul departure. DragonPass and Priority Pass accepted.

Best for Pay-Per-Visit

Khami Executive Lounge

Khami Executive Lounge accepts walk-in pay-in entry, so you can pay per visit without a membership or airline status. A straightforward fallback at Harare when the membership lounges are crowded or you simply don't hold a card.

INTL

International Terminal

The International Terminal holds the bulk of Harare's lounges. Most are independent contract lounges in the DragonPass and Priority Pass networks, sitting airside after passport control and security, with hot buffets, full bars and runway views. A SkyTeam-aligned lounge (DZIMBABWE) and a Star Alliance lounge (Dzimbahwe) serve their own premium passengers, and the Khami Executive Lounge sells pay-in entry.

  • Densest cluster of HRE lounges — all airside after passport control and security
  • DragonPass is accepted at the widest set; Priority Pass covers several of them
  • Most pour a full bar with house wine, beer and spirits plus a hot buffet
  • Khami Executive Lounge sells walk-in pay-in entry for travellers without a card
MAIN

Main Terminal

Harare's Main Terminal lounges sit after security and serve oneworld passengers. The Airport Lounge and the Dzimbabwe Executive Lounge both admit oneworld Sapphire status holders and business-class travellers, with the Dzimbabwe Executive Lounge open around the clock.

  • Two oneworld-aligned lounges, both after security
  • The Airport Lounge runs daytime hours (06:00–19:00)
  • The Dzimbabwe Executive Lounge is open 24 hours
  • Access follows oneworld Sapphire status or a business-class ticket
Guia de acesso

Como entrar nas salas VIP em HRE.

Harare is a DragonPass and Priority Pass airport first and foremost — those two memberships unlock the most lounges, all airside in the International Terminal. Alliance access is limited to a handful of branded lounges (SkyTeam, Star Alliance and oneworld), and one lounge sells walk-in pay-in entry. Always confirm whether your lounge is in the International or Main Terminal before clearing security.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is accepted at the widest set of HRE lounges, including the airside International Terminal contract lounges — Premium Luxury, Vhakacha, Pearl, Blueberry, The Lounge and Khami. It's the single most useful membership to carry at Harare.

Priority Pass

Priority Pass works at several International Terminal lounges — including Premium Luxury, Pearl, Blueberry, The Lounge and Khami — but not the DragonPass-only Vhakacha Lounge. Check the per-lounge page, as coverage is slightly narrower than DragonPass.

Walk-in pay-in entry

The Khami Executive Lounge sells pay-in entry at the door, so you can pay per visit without a membership or airline status. A useful fallback if you don't hold DragonPass or Priority Pass.

Airline & alliance lounges

Alliance access is split across separate lounges: the DZIMBABWE Lounge serves SkyTeam Elite Plus, the Dzimbahwe Lounge serves Star Alliance Gold, and the Main Terminal's Airport Lounge and Dzimbabwe Executive Lounge serve oneworld Sapphire. Access follows your status and ticket class.

Business & First class ticket

A business- or first-class ticket on an aligned carrier gets you into that alliance's lounge directly — SkyTeam for DZIMBABWE, Star Alliance for Premium Luxury and Dzimbahwe, oneworld for the Main Terminal lounges — with no membership needed.

01

Lead with DragonPass

  • DragonPass covers more HRE lounges than Priority Pass — if you carry only one, it's the better bet here.
  • Most Harare lounges are independent contract lounges rather than airline-branded, so the membership matters more than your airline.
  • The Vhakacha Lounge is DragonPass-only, so Priority Pass won't get you in there.
02

International vs Main Terminal

  • Almost every lounge is airside in the International Terminal, after passport control and security — clear the checkpoint first.
  • The two oneworld lounges (The Airport Lounge and Dzimbabwe Executive) are in the Main Terminal — match the lounge to your departure area.
  • If you're flying internationally, the dense DragonPass / Priority Pass cluster downstairs near the gates is where you'll spend your time.
03

Hours and timing

  • Hours vary by lounge: some run all day, while Blueberry keeps shorter 08:00–19:00 hours and The Airport Lounge closes at 19:00.
  • The Dzimbabwe Executive Lounge in the Main Terminal is open 24 hours if you have an awkward late or early connection.
  • Lounges can fill around the evening long-haul bank — arrive earlier if you want a quiet seat.
04

Making the most of access

  • No DragonPass or Priority Pass? The Khami Executive Lounge sells pay-in entry at the door.
  • Want to freshen up before a long flight? The Lounge, opposite Gate 2, has showers and massage chairs.
  • Travelling with kids? The Pearl and Vhakacha lounges have a children's area.
