The Starlux Galactic Lounge in Terminal 1 is one of two Galactic Lounges the airline runs at its Taipei home base, and it serves Starlux passengers heading to international destinations other than the United States. It's elegant and comfortable but genuinely compact — so much so that Starlux had to forgo essentials such as bathrooms inside the lounge. What it does pack in is well chosen: fast Wi-Fi and power outlets for working, a hot buffet, fruit juices, iced tea, Evian water and a small selection of liquor and wines. There's also a short a-la-carte menu, with options that have included bagels with bacon and egg, ramen, and a fuhang soy milk set. The result is a small but considered space that punches above its size for a pre-flight stop.
