Sobre EWR

Newark Liberty International (EWR) spreads its 12 lounges across three terminals, and it is an airline-lounge airport at heart. Terminal A is the newest building and leans domestic, with United Club, Delta Sky Club and the American Airlines Admirals Club on its mezzanine level. Terminal B is Newark's international gateway, holding the British Airways, Lufthansa and SAS lounges plus La Compagnie's Lounge&Co, with the USO Center landside for service members. Terminal C is United's fortress hub and home to the most lounges, anchored by the flagship United Polaris Lounge, two separate United Clubs and a Minute Suites. Access here runs mostly through airline status, membership or a premium-cabin ticket — there is no broad walk-in day-pass network, and Priority Pass only covers Minute Suites. Because EWR's terminals don't connect airside, always pick a lounge in the terminal you're flying from.

Best Overall

Best Airline Lounge

British Airways Lounge

The British Airways Lounge in Terminal B brings a calm, distinctly British retreat to Newark for BA First, Club World and eligible oneworld status passengers, with leather armchairs, a hot buffet and runway views. The most consistent branded experience on the international side.

Minute Suites

Minute Suites in Terminal C is the one EWR lounge that takes Priority Pass — private soundproofed suites with a daybed, fresh blankets and a Smart TV. It is a pay-per-suite quiet space rather than a buffet lounge, ideal for rest or focused work between flights.

Best Independent Lounge

La Compagnie Lounge&Co

Lounge&Co in Terminal B, opened in 2024 in the former Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse space, is operated by all-business-class carrier La Compagnie for its passengers to Nice, Paris Orly and Milan. A stylish, low-key independent lounge on the international side.

Guia de acesso

Como entrar nas salas VIP em EWR.

Newark is an airline-lounge airport first. Most of its lounges are branded airline clubs reached by membership, elite status or a premium-cabin ticket — United dominates Terminal C, and the foreign carriers cluster in Terminal B. There is no wide pay-per-visit network here: Priority Pass only opens Minute Suites, and a couple of spaces sell paid entry. Always confirm your lounge's terminal before clearing security, as EWR's terminals don't connect airside.

Airline status

Airline & alliance lounges

Most EWR lounges are airline clubs. United Club and United Polaris serve United and Star Alliance flyers, Delta Sky Club covers SkyTeam, and American's Admirals Club and the British Airways Lounge serve oneworld. Lufthansa and SAS round out the Star Alliance and SkyTeam international options. Access follows your ticket and frequent-flyer tier.

Business & First class ticket

A business- or first-class ticket gets you into your airline's Newark lounge directly — United Polaris for long-haul United business, the British Airways Lounge for BA First and Club World, and Lufthansa or La Compagnie's own lounges for their premium passengers. The simplest route if you're flying up front.

Priority Pass

Priority Pass coverage at Newark is narrow — it opens Minute Suites in Terminal C, which provides a private rest suite rather than a traditional buffet lounge. Most of EWR's airline clubs are not in the Priority Pass network, so don't count on it for general lounge access here.

Paid entry

A few Newark lounges sell or include paid entry rather than relying on status. Minute Suites can be booked per use, and the USO Center serves U.S. service members and their families. La Compagnie's Lounge&Co is tied to that airline's tickets rather than open walk-in sale.

01

Match the terminal to your airline

  • EWR's three terminals don't connect airside — pick a lounge in the terminal you're departing from before you clear security.
  • United flies mainly from Terminal C; foreign carriers like British Airways and Lufthansa use Terminal B; domestic Delta and American clubs sit in Terminal A.
  • If you're connecting between terminals, you'll re-clear security, so plan lounge time around your departure gate.
02

This is an airline-lounge airport

  • Most Newark lounges need airline status, membership or a premium-cabin ticket — there's no broad walk-in day-pass network here.
  • Priority Pass only covers Minute Suites, so don't rely on it for general lounge access at EWR.
  • Star Alliance Gold opens the United Clubs and, on long-haul international flights, the United Polaris Lounge.
03

Terminal C is the strongest

  • United's Terminal C holds the most lounges, anchored by the flagship United Polaris Lounge for long-haul business class.
  • There are two separate United Clubs in Terminal C — one near gate C74 and one near gate C123 — so head for whichever is closest to your gate.
  • Minute Suites near gate C125 is the place to rest if you have a long layover and don't have club access.
04

Timing & crowds

  • Terminal B and C lounges fill around the evening transatlantic departure bank — arrive earlier if you want a quieter visit.
  • The United Polaris Lounge is busiest before the evening long-haul push to Europe and beyond.
  • Morning domestic banks crowd the Terminal A clubs; mid-afternoon is usually the calmer window.
