Sobre KIX

Kansai International Airport (KIX) serves Osaka and the wider Kansai region, and its entire lounge scene sits in Terminal 1, the main international and full-service building. The 12 lounges we track span airline lounges from JAL, ANA and Korean Air, alliance-access lounges in the KIX Lounge family for oneworld and Star Alliance flyers, and independent card-member lounges reachable on DragonPass and Priority Pass. A handful of pay-in lounges let you buy entry without status or a membership. Terminal 2, Kansai's low-cost carrier terminal, has no lounges, so if you're flying an LCC like Peach or Jetstar you won't find one there. Most KIX lounges are airside, after passport control and security, and the field as a whole leans toward calm, minimalist Japanese design rather than flashy flagship spaces.

Best Overall

KIX Airside Lounge

KIX AIRSIDE LOUNGE has the broadest membership access of any independent lounge at Kansai — it takes both SkyTeam status and DragonPass, and sits airside on Level 3 of Terminal 1 between gates 22 and 23. A calm, modern Japanese space that works for the widest range of travellers.

Best for Priority Pass

Card Members Lounge ANEX Rokko

Card Members Lounge ANEX Rokko is an airside contract lounge near the north gate 12 area that accepts both DragonPass and Priority Pass. A cosy, well-kept option if you carry one of those memberships rather than airline status.

Best Airline Lounge

JAL International Sakura Lounge

The JAL International Sakura Lounge is the flagship Japan Airlines international lounge at KIX. A 2015 renovation added massage chairs, electronic lockers, power at every seat and an expanded food spread including curries and a salad bar — the most polished branded lounge here.

Best Pay-Per-Visit

Lounge Pacific

Lounge Pacific in Terminal 1's International North Wing, near gates 12-13, welcomes pay-in guests. A straightforward walk-in option when you don't have airline status or a lounge membership and just want to pay per visit.

T1

Terminal 1 (International & Main)

Terminal 1 is Kansai's main building and the home of every lounge at the airport. Airline lounges from JAL, ANA and Korean Air serve their own premium and frequent-flyer passengers, the KIX Lounge Kansai, KIX Lounge Premium and KIX North Lounge cover oneworld and Star Alliance flyers, and independent card-member lounges (ANEX Rokko, Kongo and the KIX AIRSIDE LOUNGE) are reachable on DragonPass and Priority Pass. Several pay-in lounges round out the field. Lounges sit on the upper levels, most airside after passport control and security.

  • Holds all 12 KIX lounges — Terminal 2 (LCC) has none
  • Airline lounges: JAL Sakura, ANA, Korean Air KAL and more
  • Alliance access for oneworld and Star Alliance via the KIX Lounge family
  • DragonPass and Priority Pass open the independent card-member lounges
Guia de acesso

Como entrar nas salas VIP em KIX.

Kansai is a Terminal 1 airport for lounges — everything is in the main building. Your route in depends on your ticket: airline lounges follow your carrier and cabin, oneworld and Star Alliance status reach the KIX Lounge family, and the independent card-member lounges open on DragonPass or Priority Pass. A handful of lounges also sell pay-in entry. Most lounges are airside, after passport control and security.

Lounge membership

DragonPass

DragonPass is accepted at the KIX AIRSIDE LOUNGE and the two card-member lounges, ANEX Rokko and Kongo, all airside in Terminal 1. It's the most useful single membership for the independent lounges at Kansai.

DragonPass
Lounge membership

Priority Pass

Priority Pass works at the Card Members Lounge ANEX Rokko and Cardmembers Lounge Kongo, both airside in Terminal 1. Check the per-lounge page, as Priority Pass coverage here is narrower than DragonPass.

Priority Pass
Airline status

Airline & alliance lounges

oneworld flyers reach the KIX Lounge Kansai, KIX Lounge Premium and KIX North Lounge; Star Alliance status also opens KIX Lounge Kansai and KIX Lounge Premium plus the ANA Lounge; SkyTeam status reaches the Sakura Lounge and KIX AIRSIDE LOUNGE. Access follows your ticket and frequent-flyer tier.

01

It's all Terminal 1

  • Every KIX lounge is in Terminal 1 — the main international and full-service building.
  • Terminal 2 is the low-cost carrier terminal (Peach, Jetstar) and has no lounges, so don't expect one if you're flying LCC.
  • If you're connecting between the terminals, allow time for the free shuttle bus between T1 and T2.
02

Match the lounge to your access

  • DragonPass opens the widest set of independent lounges here; Priority Pass covers a narrower pair (ANEX Rokko and Kongo).
  • oneworld and Star Alliance status reach the KIX Lounge family rather than the airline-branded lounges.
  • Pay-in lounges like Lounge Pacific and the Asuka Lounge are the fallback if you have no status or membership.
03

Airside vs landside

  • Most lounges are airside, after passport control and security — clear immigration first for an international departure.
  • From security, several airside lounges are reached via the escalators on the upper levels near the gates.
  • The KIX AIRSIDE LOUNGE sits on Level 3 near the escalator between gates 22 and 23.
04

A quiet, low-key field

  • Kansai's lounges lean toward calm, minimalist Japanese design rather than flashy flagship spaces.
  • Noise levels are generally low across the independent and KIX-branded lounges — good for resting before a long-haul.
  • Arrive a little earlier at the evening international departure bank, when the popular lounges fill up.
